Effortless solutions for windows and doors

It’s the renovation dream.

Knock the back wall out. Put a massive sheet of glass in. Make the kitchen feel like the garden.

But then you get stuck. Bifolds or Sliders?

Half the architects in Bournemouth say one thing. The builders say another.

Here is the simple trade-off.

The Bifold: The Wall Remover

If you want the “wow” factor, this is it.

You unlock the lead door. You fold the panels back. Suddenly, the entire back wall of your house has vanished.

The kitchen flows straight onto the patio. There is nothing in the way.

For a BBQ or a summer party, you can’t beat it. It connects the inside to the outside completely.

The Slider: The Picture Frame

But here is the catch with Bifolds. When they are closed (which is 90% of the year in the UK), you have a lot of vertical frames breaking up the view.

Sliders don’t have that problem.

Because the glass panels are huge, sometimes 2 or 3 metres wide, you get a clear view.

It frames the garden like a massive picture.

You can’t open up 100% of the width like a bifold. One panel always has to slide behind the other. But the glass is so big you barely notice.

The Decision

Ask yourself one question.

Do you want the wall gone? Get Bifolds.
Do you want the view? Get Sliders.

If you have a stunning garden and you want to see it clearly even when it’s raining, pick the Slider.

If you live for those three weeks of proper summer and want the house wide open, pick the Bifold.

Feel the Weight

These things are heavy. We are talking serious engineering.
