Effortless solutions for windows and doors

Self-cleaning glass is a waste of money for most Bournemouth homes.

People buy it to avoid cleaning. Then a seagull hits the pane and the mess stays there for months. The glass isn’t faulty, it just isn’t magic.

The Shade Problem

The coating on the glass needs direct sun to work. UV rays are what break down the bird mess and dirt.

If your windows are under a balcony, a roof overhang, or a deep brick reveal, the coating stays switched off. You’ve paid a 20% premium for a feature that physically cannot work in the shade.

No Rain, No Cleaning

The second part of the process needs rain to wash the loosened dirt away.

In a dry Dorset summer, or on the sheltered side of your house, the dirt just sits there. You still have to get the hose or a bucket out to move the grime.

Coastal Grime

The coating is for light dust. It won’t touch thick sea salt crust or heavy bird lime. In a coastal town, you are always going to need a window cleaner.

The Reality

Only pay for this if the window is high up, south-facing, and fully exposed to the weather. For anything else, you are throwing cash away.

Come down to 78 Alma Road or give us a call on 01202 533126. We have the spec sheets on the counter. We’ll show you why it’s a waste of money for half the windows in your property.
