Effortless solutions for windows and doors

From the kerb, they look identical.

They both open with a button. They both look smart in Anthracite Grey.

Mechanically, though? They are worlds apart.

Get the choice wrong, and you are stuck with a door that eats your ceiling space or leaves the garage freezing.

Here is the real difference.

The Roller: The Driveway Saver

In Winton and Charminster, the driveways are short.

We see it constantly. You pull in, but the boot is still blocking the footpath. You have to drive right up to the metal just to get off the road.

That is where the Roller wins. It travels vertically, straight up. You can park with your nose touching the curtain, and it still opens perfectly.

The “Roof Space” Factor

The other massive win for the Roller is storage.

The whole door rolls up into a compact box behind the lintel. It never touches the ceiling.

That leaves your rafters free. You can hang ladders, surfboards, or timber from the roof, and the door won’t hit them.

The Sectional: The Warm Option

A Sectional door is a different beast.

It uses tracks that run back across the ceiling. That means you lose that overhead storage space.

But in exchange, you get warmth. Real warmth.

The panels are massive. We are talking 40mm to 60mm of solid foam insulation. It locks into the frame like a fridge door.

If you are using the garage as a gym, an office, or a workshop, a roller door won’t hold the heat. You need the thickness of a Sectional.

The Simple Choice

It comes down to one trade-off.

Do you need the ceiling space for storage? Get the Roller. Do you need a warm room? Get the Sectional.

Come and see the difference for yourself. We have both rigged up at 78 Alma Road. Press the buttons, hear the motors, and see which one fits your life, or give us a call on 01202 533126.
