Effortless solutions for windows and doors

Water on a conservatory floor is rarely a glass failure.

Homeowners immediately price up a new roof. Most of the time, the roof is fine. The drainage has just failed at the house wall.

Blocked Box Gutters

The box gutter is the metal channel where the conservatory meets the house brickwork.

In Bournemouth, these clog with moss and grit from the roof tiles. A choked gutter forces water back under the structural seals. It then travels down the inside of the plastic cappings and onto the floor.

Gasket Rot

Water sitting on the eave beam rots the rubber gaskets.

If leaf guards are missing, the water has nowhere to go. It sits on the structural ledge until it finds a way inside. A ladder and a stiff brush usually solve the “leak.”

The Test

Run a hose through the gutter. If the water clears the downpipe, the seals aren’t the problem.

If the gaskets are actually gone, we supply replacement box gutter seals and leaf guards to stop the debris buildup.

Maintenance Reality

Clean the gutters once a year. It saves the five-grand cost of a replacement roof.

Come down to 78 Alma Road. We have the box gutter sections on the trade counter. We can show you exactly how the water bypasses the seals when it’s blocked.
