Effortless solutions for windows and doors

A jigsaw will kill a composite door.

If you cut a hole into a finished slab, you hit the internal steel or timber. Once that core is sliced, the door is scrap.

No Warranty

The manufacturer’s warranty dies the second you pierce the skin.

If the door warps or the locks jam six months later, you’ve got no comeback. You’ve broken the weather seal and the structural frame. No supplier will touch a door once it’s been hacked for a cat flap.

Core Rot

The inside of these doors is high-density foam or solid timber.

A DIY cut leaves that raw material open to the rain. Water gets in, the slab swells, and the locks eventually fail. Don’t think a bit of silicone will save it—it won’t.

Factory Only

Cat flaps have to be factory-fitted.

The manufacturer reinforces the hole while the door is being built. It’s the only way to keep the structural frame intact and the weather seals working.

The Trade Reality

Don’t buy a standard door and try to “make it work” later.

Come down to 78 Alma Road or give us a call on 01202 533126. We’ll show you a cross-section of a composite slab. You’ll see why a jigsaw ruins the reinforcement and leaves you with an expensive piece of junk.
